DVB cards allow you to receive television broadcast via satellite or OTA (over the air) with your computer. This allows you to build a PVR (programmable video recorder) to record, playback and timeshift TV. The most common free to air broadcast in New Zealand is known as Freeview which includes broadcasts from TVNZ, Canwest (TV3) and others. All DVB cards sold by nicegear support both Linux and Windows operating systems.
